Daewoong Pet, a pet healthcare specialist, announced on January 31 that it has entered the Japanese market by showcasing eight premium pet products at COSME TOKYO 2024, Japan’s largest international beauty exhibition.

Held from January 17th to 19th, COSME TOKYO 2024 saw over 750 companies from 18 countries participate and was a great success.

To officially launch in the Japanese pet market, Daewoong Pet participated in COSME TOKYO 2024 for the first time, introducing a total of eight pet products. The lineup included five premium pet supplements:

Impactamin Pet for dogs and cats

Aniwell Lutein Astaxanthin,
along with a pancreatic enzyme supplement for animal hospitals:

Epicle, and two high-protein nutritional snacks:

Aniworm Large Gummy Sticks (Sweet Potato and Salmon).

COSME TOKYO is not only a cosmetics event but also includes expo categories such as beauty, healthcare products, haircare, and marketing, providing an opportunity to observe industry trends and generate business opportunities. The event is particularly known for facilitating partnerships between local companies and international markets, offering a platform for business exchanges.

Through its participation in this exhibition, Daewoong Pet has made inroads into both the Japanese and Asia-Pacific pet markets by promoting its products and establishing relationships with over 242 distributors. Meetings with local stakeholders raised awareness about Daewoong Pet’s products and heightened expectations for its entry into the Japanese pet market.

To ensure the success of its products in the Japanese pet market, Daewoong Pet will also thoroughly prepare for the local market entry. They plan to assess market reactions to their products at this exhibition and develop a localization strategy based on the findings.

In addition, in October of last year, Daewoong Pet formed a strategic partnership with Daewoong Pharmaceutical and started online sales of key products through Japan’s largest K-trend e-commerce platform, Qoo10 Japan. Furthermore, they have been exploring global avenues, including participating in a Thai pet exhibition in collaboration with Daewoong Pharmaceutical’s Thai subsidiary. Positive feedback has been received from sales of Impactamin Pet and Aniwell products, as well as Epicle through the Shopee platform’s Thai market page.

Daewoong Pet CEO Lee Hyo-jun commented,

“Through the live feedback at COSME TOKYO, we were able to confirm that Daewoong Pet’s products meet the needs of the Japanese market. We plan to actively seek partners and fully expand our entry into the Japanese market starting with this exhibition.”
