Daewoong Pet, a pet healthcare specialist, and Daewoong Pharmaceutical joined hands to support abandoned animals, offering both financial aid and hands-on volunteer work.

On August 17, a team of 10 volunteers from Daewoong Pet and Daewoong Pharmaceutical visited the KARA The Bom Center, an animal shelter located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Daewoong Pet donated approximately 10 million KRW worth of pet health supplements and 880 pet treats, as part of the company’s ongoing effort to assist shelters facing limited resources and manpower.

The KARA The Bom Center, founded by KARA (Animal Rights Action Korea), is a comprehensive welfare space designed to improve animal rights awareness and establish a proper adoption culture. It plays a pivotal role in rescuing and caring for abandoned animals, as well as facilitating their adoption through education and medical treatment, leading the way in progressive animal care management.

For this initiative, Daewoong Pet presented a range of three functional pet nutritional supplements and three kinds of nutritious treats to ensure that the animals can lead healthier, more balanced lives. The supplements, including Impectamin Pet for Cats, Aniwell Omega-3, and Aniwell Probiotics Immune, were chosen to support immune health and improve overall wellness. Additionally, Daewoong Pet provided three types of dog treats made with mealworms—a highly nutritious insect—designed to boost protein intake: Aniworm Salmon, Sweet Potato, and Pumpkin.

In addition to the donations, the volunteers worked to improve the shelter’s environment by cleaning kennels and cat cages, and maintaining the facilities. They also spent time with the animals, walking and playing with them to offer comfort and help build trust in humans.

Daewoong Pet’s CEO, Lee Hyo-jun, reflected on the experience, saying,

“Participating in this volunteer activity was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the coexistence between pets and humans. I hope that our nutritional supplements provide much-needed support to the rescued animals, helping them grow healthier and find happiness in their new homes.”
